Imperial County Jail Roster Status
No official public Imperial County online jail roster was located on the sheriff website during the research pass. The sheriff's Corrections-Jail page describes the jail bureau, facilities, visiting links, mail rules, money deposits, PREA reporting, transportation, programs, and medical forms, but it does not present a public "who is in jail" search in the captured material. That changes the normal search process. The jail phone line and records division become the primary starting points for current custody and booking-record questions.
The local jail system has three buildings. RADF handles intake, classification, and medical screening. Herbert Hughes Correctional Center and Oren R. Fox Detention Facility also house county jail detainees. A person recently arrested by the sheriff, El Centro police, Calexico police, Brawley police, Imperial police, Westmorland police, CHP, or another agency may not appear in court records until prosecutors file a case. Jail custody and court case status update through different systems.
How to Find Imperial County Jail Inmates
The fastest official route for a current Imperial County inmate record is the jail information line, especially when the arrest is recent. Ask whether the person has completed intake, whether housing has been assigned, and whether the jail can provide releasable booking or release information. If a written record is needed, the sheriff's Records Division handles arrest and booking records, county-wide warrants, report requests, local clearance letters, and local criminal-history letters.
- Call the Imperial County jail main line at (442) 265-2220 for current custody, intake, and housing questions.
- Use the Imperial County Sheriff's Support Services page for records division details and report request steps.
- Search the Imperial Superior Court public portal after filing for case number, charges, hearings, bail minutes, and disposition.
- Check VINELink for custody status and notification if Imperial County data is available.
- Use CDCR CIRIS, ICE ODLS, or the BOP inmate locator when the person is not in county jail custody.
No official Imperial County Sheriff's Office inmate-search app was located in the research pass. Use the jail phone, records division, court portal, CDCR, ICE, BOP, and VINELink channels instead of unofficial apps.
Imperial County Roster Search Fields
The county roster table is intentionally sparse because no official public search form was located. A caller or records requester should still gather identifiers before contacting the jail. Full legal name, date of birth from a lawful source, arrest date, arresting agency, case number, citation number, or SPN can help staff distinguish people with similar names.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| No official county roster located | n/a | n/a | The sheriff public site did not expose a searchable jail roster during the research pass. |
| Name | Phone or records request detail | Usually needed | Use full name and spelling variations. |
| Booking number or SPN | Phone or records request detail | If known | May be needed for mail, records, or facility confirmation. |
| Arrest date or agency | Phone or records request detail | If known | Helpful for recent arrests and common names. |
What Imperial County Records May Show
A county jail record is not the same thing as a court record or a state criminal-history file. A jail record usually starts with booking and custody. A court record starts when a prosecutor files a case. CDCR, ICE, and BOP records use separate identifiers and separate legal authority. This matters because a family member may hear that a person was arrested, then search the court portal too soon and find nothing.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Identity information if the person is in custody and disclosure is not restricted. |
| Booking number | Local booking identifier, not confirmed online in a public Imperial County roster. |
| Booking date/time | Usually part of the booking record, subject to release limits. |
| Mugshot | No public sheriff mugshot gallery was confirmed; request through records if releasable. |
| Charges | Booking allegations may differ from charges filed by the District Attorney. |
| Bond or bail | May come from jail or court depending on case stage and hold status. |
| Housing facility | Ask the jail after RADF intake and classification are complete. |
| Court date | Search the Imperial Superior Court public portal after a case exists. |
Imperial County Sheriff Records
The Support Services page says the Records Division is the repository and records management center for Imperial County arrest and booking records, county-wide warrants, restraining orders, report requests, clearance letters, criminal-history letters, permits, vehicle releases, Live Scan, and sex or arson offender registration. Records staff can be contacted by phone at (442) 265-2125, fax at (442) 265-2073, mail at Imperial County Sheriff's Office, Attn: Records Division, 328 Applestill Road, El Centro, CA 92243, or email at recordsdivision@icso.org.
Records office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed weekends and holidays. The sheriff page lists a $22.00 fee for crime or incident reports and says those requests are normally processed within 10 business days. Local Clearance Letters and Local Criminal History Record Check Letters are listed at $65.00 and normally process within 10 business days. Those fees are for the listed records products, not a guarantee that every booking detail or photo is public.

Court Records After Imperial County Booking
Use the court portal when the question is about filed charges, case status, hearings, bail minutes, warrants, or final disposition. The Imperial County District Attorney decides what state criminal charges to file after arrest, and the Superior Court of California, County of Imperial maintains the court case. A jail booking allegation may be amended, reduced, dismissed, or replaced by different filed counts.
The court portal accepts case and party searches, and the research notes that citation or date filters may appear depending on the interface. For the court-focused path after arrest, use the Imperial County court records after jail arrest page. For booking photos and public-record limits, use the Imperial County jail mugshots page.
Imperial County Jail Visiting and Mail
The sheriff jail page provides current local details that were not fully present in the research snapshot. For visitation information, call (442) 265-2266. Personal mail uses an off-site processing address. Legal mail goes to the jail campus. Money deposits are linked through GettingOut.com from the sheriff jail page. Because mail, video, account, and visit rules can change, confirm the person's housing and exact identifiers before sending anything.

The sheriff's forms page includes medication information forms in English and Spanish. Do not mail medication to the jail. Call staff and use the official medical-information process for medication, allergies, mental-health history, or medical conditions.
Imperial County Jail Facilities
Housing location questions should account for all three sheriff jail buildings. RADF is the first stop for medical screening and classification. HHCC and ORF are separate county jail facilities at the same campus. All three are sheriff facilities, not CDCR prisons and not ICE detention.

CDCR ICE BOP and VINELink
Sentenced state prisoners from Imperial County move into CDCR custody after conviction and state-prison commitment. Use CDCR CIRIS for Calipatria State Prison, Centinela State Prison, or any other California prison location. CDCR records may show a CDCR number, current location, admission or reception data, commitment offense, parole or release dates, and sometimes a profile photo. That record is not a county jail booking record.
Immigration detainees at Imperial Regional Detention Facility are searched through ICE ODLS. Federal sentenced prisoners are searched through BOP. Federal pretrial detainees may be under U.S. Marshals authority and may not show in BOP's public locator. VINELink can help with custody status notifications when Imperial County or another relevant agency feed is active.
| Custody Type | Correct Channel | Not Covered By |
|---|---|---|
| County jail | Jail phone, records, court portal, VINELink | CDCR CIRIS until state transfer |
| State prison | CDCR CIRIS | Sheriff jail line for current prison profile |
| Immigration detention | ICE ODLS | County jail roster |
| Federal sentenced custody | BOP Inmate Locator | Imperial Superior Court for prison location |
